Moving Forward

The last 7 months have been a process.  They have been hard.  I miss my dad.  All of us do.  His family.  We have comfort in knowing where he is.  Because of the choice he made as a teen.  To accept Christ as his Savior.  There is comfort in that.  Those of us that have also accepted Christ by faith will see him again.  That is a great comfort.  He, my dad, made sure that his family knew of that choice.  That faith.  He lived it, breathed it, preached it.  Not only did he know it, he wanted his family to know it, and the world to know it.  His desire was to reach the world with the gospel.

I have had one class since my dad passed away.  I enjoyed it.  But I am having a struggle getting back into gear.  This past weekend I went away with a group of friends.  It was fantastic.  I stamped a couple of cards and even crocheted a little.  And I slept hard!  I also ate a ton of food that I shouldn't have.  ha

These are the cards.  There are 2 views of each one.  Click on the images for a closer view and the shimmer.

The base of this card uses the Hardwood Background stamp and the Woodgrain Embossing Folder.  The flowers are made using the Spiral Flower Originals Die.  The banner that you can barely see was made using the Banner Framelits and is stamped using the Gorgeous Grunge stamp set.  There was a lot of sponging with Crumb Cake, Blushing Bride and Gold Encore Metallic Ink.  Thank you for letting me use your Blushing Bride ink, Barb Bird.

This card uses Petite Petals stamp set and punch.  It was water-colored using Strawberry Slush, Pistachio Pudding and So Saffron.  Thank you for the use of your Aqua Painter, Patty Bombyk.  The background is the Decorative Dots Embossing Folder.  Isn't it fun?  And that gorgeous ribbon is Natural Chevron Ribbon.  Thank you, Emma Fewkes!  And the leaf frond is from a stamp set that Yvonne Newborn (Thank you, Yvonne) let me borrow.   Card stock is Shimmery White.

Hopefully I will start having classes again soon.  I love to stamp and create.  And we are also still trying to finish the house.  Eventually it will happen.  Along the way I want to enjoy life.  My mom, kids, grands, and more grands, siblings, other family and my friends.

And I want to proclaim Christ.  Do you know Him?  He loves you.  He died and rose again for you.

2 Peter 3:9 ~ The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some count slackness, but is long-suffering toward us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance.

Love to you all,
Debra

Thanks for sharing your heart with us, Debra. So glad you are going at your own pace through the grieving process. These are both lovely cards. I believe that the friendships and sharing that went into them are just as lovely! So glad you could get away together. Love you, dear friend!

Those cards look great on your blog, but oh so much better in the flesh. We did have a fantastic weekend, didn't we?
