Paper Tole Rose Pie Box

This is another project for the Michigan Minglers. For this challenge we had to make a pie box. Yes, it really IS a pie box, it just ended up all covered up. Bwahahahaha. The rose on the top is using the paper tole technique. Paper tole is one of the techniques we will be tackling at my next class on February 5th.

Sets: A Rose is a Rose

CS: Basic Gray, Shimmery White

Pads: Pink Pirouette, Riding Hood Red, Basic Gray, Old Olive, Mellow Moss

Accessories: Ribbon, linen thread, dimensionals, mini glue dots, Dazzling Diamonds, 2-way Glue pen

This is another view showing the layers of the rose.

Vintage Tea

This card is for the Michigan Mingle Challenge on SCS. We had to make a card using teabag staining. And it had to be vintage. Vintage is my favorite style and I haven't used it in a very long time. Since we have been having a snowstorm all last night and today I used snowflakes. It sure is beautiful outside. I love Michigan!!! All of you should move here if you don't live here already.
To tea stain you soak tea bags in water and then take the tea bag(s) and rub it(them) all over your cardstock. If you want, let the teabag tear and get some of the tea itself onto the cardstock. Use a papertowel to soak up some of the water. Let the cardstock dry and then stamp your project.

Set: Snow Swirled, verse is from Stampabilities and it is Matthew 11:28.
Come unto Me all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.

Stamp Pads: Choc. Chip and Baja Breeze
CS: Baja Breeze, Choc. Chip, Confetti White
Accessories: Pretties Kit, Ivory Organdy Ribbon (use Heat Tool to curl), Circle punches, Scallop Punch, Scallop Edge Punch, Tool Kit, Cutter kit, sponges. The largest circle and circle scallop punch are not SU. All items © Stampin' Up! unless otherwise noted.

The challenges are in the 3rd post of this thread.

Always Glittery

Glitter Window was one of the techniques for class this month. The other was Box in a Bag. ( it is posted down a couple of posts)

The ladies enjoyed this class and I am really glad since I kept forgetting things and didn't feel up to par. I hope I wasn't contagious.

Stamp Pad: Riding Hood Red, Close to Cocoa, Pink Pirouette
Accessories: 1-1/4 inch Striped Ribbon, Clear Buttons, Circle Punch, Scallop Punch, Rope Twine, Mini Glue Dots, Glue Dots, Packing Tape.

Piercing the Darkness

Piercing the Darkness
God's light pierces the darkness;
His light scatters the night!
God's light pierces the darkness;
Jesus is that Light!
~
In all the world, no other name;
No other hope; no other way;
No other truth; no other life;
He is the Son, the only true Light,
To pierce the darkness!
~
God's light pierces the darkness;
Bringing hope for all men!
Light that shatters the darkness;
Breaking chains of sin.
~
Gospel of hope, Power of grace;
Jesus forgives; sin is erased!
Darkness is gone; new life is found!
Tell the good news, Jesus came down
To pierce the darkness!
~
Lord, You banished my darkness!
Brought me into Your light!
Saved me for Your glory!
Changed my blindness to sight!
~
Light of the World! Bright Morning Star!
O what a great Savior You are!
Lord of my life I now confess
You are my King, the only True Light
To pierce the darkness!

This is a song that was written and published by one of the pastor's of our church. I am never able to get through it without tears in my eyes. It is a poignant song of truth and I was compelled to share it here.
