Bright & Beautiful Precious Baby

Erin had a baby shower last weekend.  Family pitched in and sent a gift and this is the card I made to go with it.  I love this star set and this baby is definitely precious.  And he is a boy so I had to use blue!  Lost Lagoon to be exact.  And some gray.  Smoky Slate.  Love those 2 together.
The sets are Bright & Beautiful, That's the Ticket and Trust God.  Ink is Lost Lagoon, Soft Sky and Smoky Slate.  Cardstock is Smoky Slate, Soft Sky, Lost Lagoon and Whisper White.  The patterned paper is the All is Calm Specialty Designer Series Paper.  I know!  It is holiday paper.  It's so versatile.  The stars are cut with the Stars Framelits and the smallest center is colored with the Chalk Marker.  Other things used are Banners Framelits, Lost Lagoon Ribbon and Ticket Duo Builder Punch.
Scroll down.  I posted earlier today!

Have a great day!

Catching up!

Slowly I have been catching up on my stamping.  Lately we have been working a lot on the house.  But I have holed up in the stamp room a bit.
My favorite things are shabby, lace, doilies and more shabby.
This card I used the I Love Lace, Gorgeous Grunge and Chalk Talk stamp sets.  Colors are Lost Lagoon, Soft Sky and Very Vanilla.  The ribbon is Lost Lagoon Silky Taffeta and the lace is Venetian Crochet Trim.  And pearls.  LOVE it.  And the paper doily is crumbled up and then sponged.

Here I used the sets Petite Petals, Everything Eleanor and Label Love.  The flowers are punched with the Petite Petals Punch.  The 'just for you' piece is cut out with Apothecary Accents Framelits.  The ribbon is Blushing Bride Cotton Ribbon.  The doily is crumbled, sponged and folded.  And then more of that lovely crochet trim.  The background is Natural Filter Paper that is run through the Big Shot with the Beautifully Baroque Embossing Folder.  Unfortunately you can see the adhesive.  I need to figure something out for that.  blech  The pearls are colored with Blushing Bride Blendabilites.
Other than seeing the adhesive I love these cards.  LOVE them.

Have a great day!

A Birthday and Creative Crew Challenge

One of the challenges for the Creative Crew for September is the Catalog Focus ~ Stampin' Dimensionals.  CCREW0914CF  This card was for David's birthday and the paper is absolutely lovely.
Isn't it gorgeous?  The Under the Tree Specialty Designer Series Paper is in the Holiday Catalog.  This paper is cardstock weight.  Perfect for boxes or little containers.  I loved it for this card.  It was perfect.  See that ribbon?  It is wonderful.  Cherry Cobbler 1" Sheer Linen Ribbon.  I love it.  The card base is Baked Brown Sugar.  The twine around the ribbon is also Baked Brown Sugar.  I stamped on Whisper White using markers.  Baked Brown Sugar, Cherry Cobbler and Early Espresso.  The stamp set is Amazing Birthday.  The sentiments are held on using dimensionals.  Yes!  The catalog focus!

Have a great day!

Bridal Shower Fun!

Yesterday was my niece, Amy's bridal shower.  I was asked to make the invitations and a "Bride to be" pin.  I was asked to make a salad and a couple of cheesecakes too, but these were the fun things to do.  Ha!  We had such a great time.  I will show what I made and at the end Amy and her sisters.

Her colors are gray, blue and off white.   This is the invitation.  The stamp sets are I Love Lace Background, Flower Patch and Sketched Birthday.  The colors are Smoky Slate, Marina Mist and Very Vanilla.  The doily is cut from filter paper using the Darling Doily Thinlit.  The Flower Fair and Apothecary Accents Framelits made cutting the flower and phrase easy peasy.  The new Venetian Crochet Trim is just lovely and I just had to use some linen thread.   It opens like a card and all of the information needed is inside and was printed on the computer.

The Bride To Be pin was so fun.  I used the same colors as above and the I Love Lace Background again with Daydream Medallions Stamp Set.  I LOVE it.  It was easy to cut each piece out using the Floral Frames Collection Framelits.  I printed the words Bride To Be on my printer and stamped AMY with the Lovely Letters Alphabet.  My niece Stacy is so funny.  The day we were decorating she wore the pin.  She wants to be married.  She does not have a boyfriend.  I pointed out to her that Amy's name was on the pin.  She was very disappointed in that.  ha.  Anyway, lot's of pearls were used and some shimmer using alcohol and Champagne Mist paint.

Amy's gift from me was this name frame.  I love making these.  I try to make each one different.  This one is my favorite.  Although each time I make one I think that.  Ha.  I used a new set from the Holiday Catalog called Bright & Beautiful.  The words were from a couple different sets.  The name is cut from Typeset Bigz Alphabet (retired).

Here is a close up.  I wrinkled the paper doily, sponged it with ink and spritzed with the Champagne Mist(retired)/Alcohol spray.  The center circle is stamped using the Trust God set and I stamped the edges with one of the stars from the Bright & Beautiful set.  Again, sponging was involved.

This close-up shows the shimmer.

I love this.  It is one of the Designer Very Vintage Buttons.  I used the new Blendabilities.  They are so cool.  I used Crumb Cake, Smoky Slate and Night of Navy.  I just colored until it looked the way I wanted it.  And I spritzed it with the shimmer paint.

Here is a photo of Amy and her husband to be.

This is Amy with all of her sisters.  And if you are thinking wow.  She also has 4 brothers.  : )

I have to share this last photo because the beautiful woman on the left is my sister and mother of all the girls above.

Have a great day!

Emma's Creative Crew Challenge

Emma Fewkes, my dear friend, asked me to contribute to her Creative Crew Challenge this month.  She even came and stamped with me!  The challenge ~ Window Cards.

I love the valance on this one!
This uses a few stamp sets.  Lovely as a Tree, I Love Lace and Good Greetings.  I used the Project Life Cards &  Labels Framelits to cut the window frame and the Square Framelits to cut the center out.  The snowflakes were made using the Decorative Dots Embossing Folder.  The dots were colored using the Signo White Gel Pen.  Dazzling Diamonds were then applied.
This sample uses the words from the Truly Grateful set.  The beautiful paper through the window is from Gold Soiree Specialty Designer Series Paper.  It is just lovely.  The flower is cut from the Flower Frenzy Bigz L.

Have a great day!

Moving Forward

The last 7 months have been a process.  They have been hard.  I miss my dad.  All of us do.  His family.  We have comfort in knowing where he is.  Because of the choice he made as a teen.  To accept Christ as his Savior.  There is comfort in that.  Those of us that have also accepted Christ by faith will see him again.  That is a great comfort.  He, my dad, made sure that his family knew of that choice.  That faith.  He lived it, breathed it, preached it.  Not only did he know it, he wanted his family to know it, and the world to know it.  His desire was to reach the world with the gospel.

I have had one class since my dad passed away.  I enjoyed it.  But I am having a struggle getting back into gear.  This past weekend I went away with a group of friends.  It was fantastic.  I stamped a couple of cards and even crocheted a little.  And I slept hard!  I also ate a ton of food that I shouldn't have.  ha

These are the cards.  There are 2 views of each one.  Click on the images for a closer view and the shimmer.

The base of this card uses the Hardwood Background stamp and the Woodgrain Embossing Folder.  The flowers are made using the Spiral Flower Originals Die.  The banner that you can barely see was made using the Banner Framelits and is stamped using the Gorgeous Grunge stamp set.  There was a lot of sponging with Crumb Cake, Blushing Bride and Gold Encore Metallic Ink.  Thank you for letting me use your Blushing Bride ink, Barb Bird.

This card uses Petite Petals stamp set and punch.  It was water-colored using Strawberry Slush, Pistachio Pudding and So Saffron.  Thank you for the use of your Aqua Painter, Patty Bombyk.  The background is the Decorative Dots Embossing Folder.  Isn't it fun?  And that gorgeous ribbon is Natural Chevron Ribbon.  Thank you, Emma Fewkes!  And the leaf frond is from a stamp set that Yvonne Newborn (Thank you, Yvonne) let me borrow.   Card stock is Shimmery White.

Hopefully I will start having classes again soon.  I love to stamp and create.  And we are also still trying to finish the house.  Eventually it will happen.  Along the way I want to enjoy life.  My mom, kids, grands, and more grands, siblings, other family and my friends.

And I want to proclaim Christ.  Do you know Him?  He loves you.  He died and rose again for you.

2 Peter 3:9 ~ The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some count slackness, but is long-suffering toward us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance.

Love to you all,
Debra
