Congratulations Patrick and Sarah!

Sarah and Patrick were just married about 7 weeks ago. They had a celebration at their new home this afternoon. I am so happy for my niece and her new husband. They just live about 5 minutes from us and I am excited about that! My picture didn't turn out too well. Sorry about that.

I ordered a name and address stamp for them and covered this tin and made 10 notecards with their initial.

Loving Fresh Cuts!!!

This set is just fun. I made 11 of these for a swap I am in. It is due June 1st and I just sent them out today. I am glad I waited to make them so I could use this set. On the flower sprig I inked it in River Rock and then used a Blender Pen to add Purely Pomegranate to the flowers and Wild Wasabi to the stem. I love that look. Then I used the 2-way glue pen and Dazzling Diamonds to add some pizzaz. I also added some piercing using the Tool Kit. Colors used are River Rock, Purely Pomegranate and Wild Wasabi. The ribbon is Wild Wasabi. All images © Stampin' Up!
Have a great day!

More Fresh Cuts and a Challenge

The new set Fresh Cuts is just beautiful! It is available in June and will be in the new Fall/Winter © Stampin' Up! Catalog and Idea Book. I can't wait!!!

The sketch for this card is from Taylored Expressions. Taylor has a Cupcake Challenge every Friday and I decided to play this week. You can go here to see what it is all about.

For this card I wanted to punch the main image by using Crystal Effects to make what I wanted to stand out. The flowers on the vertical panel have the Crystal Effects as well as the three cut out flowers. I also added a dollop of Tombow Multi to the center of those and then dipped them in Dazzling Diamonds. On the large panel and the three flowers I used the Rock n Roll technique. It is my favorite and I hope you aren't tired of it. The image on the vertical panel I used markers to color that image and the huff and stamp technique.

The recipe I used is:

Stamp set: Fresh Cuts

Cardstock: Brocade Blue, So Saffron, Chocolate Chip, Whisper White

Ink: Brocade Blue, So Saffron, Chocolate Chip, pads and Markers

Accessories: Tool Kit, Jumbo Eyelets, Rich Regals Brads, Crystal Effects, Dazzling Diamonds, Tombow Multi

Enjoy this wonderful Memorial Day weekend. I need to get a card up for that.

Wedding Shower

Yesterday Jaclyn and I attended a wedding shower for the future wife of a nephew. It was so fun!

Jess (future bride) is in white. Her mom is next to her in the orange and the other 2 are my nieces Andrea and Karen.

My SIL Brenda pulled off a beautiful shower with the help of An and Karen. She did this on top of accepting 2 foster children at the beginning of the week. (They are sooooo adorable)

Elise with Jess.

Irelyn with Jess.

Elise and Irelyn are flower girls for the wedding.

And last but not least, my 2 beautiful girls.

Oh! I have to show you some yummy food.

Look at this gorgeous fruitbasket Brenda, An and Karen put this together. It was sooooo yummy!!!

This is the beautiful cake they had made. It was a yellow cake with chocolate filling. MMMMM CHOCOLATE!!! The flowers on top were made out of fondant. The top of the cake was set aside and saved for Jess and Jeff.

I will post some cards I made for the bride and groom later. Or maybe tomorrow.

Have a great day!

May Class-One Sheet Wonder

My class for May was a week ago. Life has been busy planning an Open House/20th Birthday Celebration for Jaclyn. That is why the delay for this post. Class was fun and everyone enjoyed this project.
They made the tech card and 4 cards. Whatever was left of the stamped piece was taken home for other projects.
Recipe: All © Stampin' Up! unless otherwise noted. Stamp Sets: Stitched Exotics, various word sets. Inks: Bashful Blue, Certainly Celery, Apricot Appeal, Regal Rose. Cardstock: Bashful Blue, Certainly Celery, Apricot Appeal, Regal Rose, Whisper White. Accessories: On Board Accents, Punches, Ribbons, Chunky Sprinkles, Binder Clip (Staples).

A One Sheet Wonder is basically this: Stamp a sheet of plain cardstock and make your own designer paper. You can also use Designer Series Paper for an even quicker result. My cuts were basic and simple. I just cut in halves. You can see how simple from my sample.

I am already excited for June's Club/Class!! It will be June 6 from 7pm-10pm. Let me know if you would like to attend. Techniques are Spotlighting and Stamp-a-ma-jig.

Between the Prayer of Faith and the Rock of Testing

This past Sunday one of our associates preached. Pastor Steve spoke on what happens between our prayer of faith and the rock of testing. The Scripture was Numbers 20:1-13. This is the passage where Moses and Aaron fell on their faces before the Lord. There was no water. None. The Lord spoke to them and told them to take the rod with everyone assembled and talk to the rock and it will bring forth water. Well, Moses did indeed take the rod. However, he hit the rock instead. And TWICE! Somewhere between the prayer of faith and the rock there was an attitude change. And what was the consequence of that. Moses and Aaron would not go into the Promised Land.
Pastor gave us 4 points.
1-NEVER become complacent against the war on sin.
2 Peter 5:8,9
2-NEVER underestimate the deceitfulness of sin.
Our greatest battle is not the war without - it is the war within. We need to walk with the Spirit.
3-NEVER forget there are consequences of sin.
Sin always has consequences. Forgiveness does not take away consequences. Moses asked the Lord several times to be able to go into the promised land. The Lord finally told Moses not to speak of it again. Deuteronomy 4:23-28. Deuteronomy 4:21,22,31 tells us although God is a just God. He is also a merciful God. And Moses did know that.
4-NEVER forget how amazing God's love is.
Psalm 103 Mercy upon mercy.

So, that prompted me to brush up on 1Peter 5:8,9. I want to walk worthy of the Lord. And that is what I am sharing for my Divine Design Bible Verse Challenge. You can join this challenge too. Go here.

These verses say:
Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour. Resist him, steadfast in the faith, knowing that the same sufferings are experienced by your brotherhood in the world.

Recipe:
I printed the verses off the computer. Stamp set is The Free and the Brave.
Ink - black stazon. CS - Blue Bayou, Ruby Red, River Rock, Whisper White, Black and Western Sky
Accessories - Scallop Punch, Star and Large Star Punches, Tool Kit, Pretties kit, Blue Bayou and River Rock Ribbon.
